Microphones come in a variety of sizes, functions, and prices. Typically, it is important to make sure that your microphone or audio quality is clear and is not going to cut out during the stream. Viewers are more accepting of bad video quality if the audio quality is good!
Webcam microphones and built-in laptop microphones are sufficient for your live stream, but we recommend using a dedicated microphone or a headset with a microphone during your broadcast in order to make sure that your viewers can hear you and having dedicated microphones will improve the overall quality of the stream.
There are direct USB plug-in microphones available on the market that don’t require software or hardware to use and typically range between $20-$150.
If you’d like to upgrade to more expensive and high-quality microphones, then be sure to invest in XLR cables and audio interfaces as well since the higher end microphones require these most of the time. The price range for these microphones typically range from $200-$1000 not including the price of audio interfaces or cables as well.
